GRACE Millen Ambassadors Begin Community Service Projects

On Thursday, 14 teenagers from Millen, Georgia gathered to begin working on some very exciting community services.

The GRACE Ambassador teen leadership program focuses on the mission of GRACE, building and growing leadership skills, and serving the community (locally and internationally).

During the four hour "intensive" on Thursday, topics on character and charisma were discussed. We're using literature from John Maxwell's 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader.

During the lesson, the kids were paired off in groups of two. They were instructed to choose a partner that they didn't know or didn't know well. The object of this exercise was to learn the other person's story, or something interesting about them and share with the group.

After the leadership lessons, we split the kids into two groups. One group began sorting through canned foods for the food pantry and the other group sorted clothing for a clothes closet.

We are going to need a few things to get these community services up and running - shelves, clothing racks, clothes hangers, etc.
